Creating COVID Frankensteins

CBS News reported that Boston University has been testing strains of the COVID virus they created by combining the ancestral and Omicron variants. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) partially funded the school research but these funds were not directly used to wards this research. and they were rather miffed to find out about this research through news articles. Federal health authorities say they are looking into whether the scientists should have sought their permission before undertaking the possible “gain of function” research. Such research being done in Wuhan back in 2019 could have potentially started the pandemic to begin with.

Scientist were looking into the Omicron variants spike proteins Mice were infected with combined versions of the virus creating a new variant of the virus. Hey what could go wrong, right? Boston University said it was under no obligations to report this gain of function research to the NIH.

100% of the mice infected with the original Wuhan strain of the virus died. When mice were infected with the recombinant strains created by researchers 80% of the mice died. What joy it must have brought researches to find they had created a strain with an 80% mortality rate.

“It is concerning that this research – like the research in Wuhan that may have caused the pandemic – was not identified by the funding agency as possible enhanced potential pandemic pathogens (ePPP) research,” Rutgers University Professor Richard Ebright wrote on Twitter.

140,000 Orphans

Over 140,000 children in the U.S. have lost a parent or caregiver due to COVID-19.

A peer-reviewed study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics, described this as  “a hidden and ongoing secondary tragedy caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.” The study found that roughly 1 out of 500 children in the United States “has experienced COVID-19-associated orphan hood.”

The study defines orphan hood as the death of one or both parents. The study also tracked the loss of care giving grandparents. Researchers found racial and ethnic disparities in the deaths of caregivers from COVID-19. The study broke down the disparities of those orphaned as follows, 1 of every 168 American Indian/Alaska Native children, 1 of every 310 Black children, 1 of every 412 Hispanic children, 1 of every 612 Asian children, and 1 of every 753 White children experienced orphan hood or death of a parent or caregiver.

California, Texas, and New York — states with large populations — had the highest number of children being orphaned by COVID-19.

A similar study published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in July 2021 found that more than 1.5 million children worldwide lost a parent or caregiver to COVID-19 during the first 14 months of the pandemic.

Losing a parent or caregiver in childhood is a significant trauma. The study notes that this type of adverse childhood experience “may result in profound long-term impact on health and well-being for children.”

“The numbers don’t tell the full stories,” he says. “The full story is really in the lives and the affected future of these children and adolescents and their families.”

Karens Fear The Vaccinated

Vice World News reported that, a new conspiracy theory is convincing anti maskers that they have to start masking up and social distancing to protect themselves from the vaccinated.

The baseless conspiracy theory proposes that the vaccinated will “shed” certain proteins onto the unvaccinated who will then suffer adverse effects. The main worry is the “shedding” will cause irregular menstruation, infertility, and miscarriages. This is part of a larger conspiracy that COVID-19 was a ploy to depopulate the world, and the vaccine is what will cull the masses.

Experts say the conspiracy is born from a fundamental misunderstanding of how vaccines work. It has been widely debunked.

Anti-vax influencers are instructing their fellow anti-vaxxers as well as anti-maskers that one of the best ways to defend themselves from this blight is to co-opt social distancing, and wearing masks, the very strategy they have long decried.  They long cried that those that wore masks were sheep. Now they must sheepishly protect themselves from the growing flock. Of course many anti maskers think that masks do not work therefor they would not be protected from the vaccinated even if  they do adopt the masks. Who ever came up with these new insane conspiracy theories must be a genius who finally found a way to get their misguided followers to mask up and social distance.

A podunk private school in South Florida went so far as to ban vaccinated teachers from interacting with unvaccinated students. Teachers were cautioned that if they get vaccinated, they won’t be allowed to return next year. The school’s CEO and co-founder cited unsupported assertions about Covid-19 vaccines that contradict a large body of evidence of the vaccines’ safety and efficacy from the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization. There is more scientific evidence to prove that Botox injections shed a persons ability to reason.
