Shibori, an ancient Japanese textile tradition dating back to the 8th Century, is a process of dyeing cloth through resist methods to create unique patterns and texture. In this workshop students will learn a variety of resist processes such as pole wrapping, clamping, stitching, folding, and binding to create exciting and unique wearable works of art. We will experiment with color and pattern using Procion MX fiber reactive cold water dyes and learn how to prepare a traditional Indigo dye vat. Students will also have the opportunity to try image transfer techniques and Thoix discharging (controlled bleaching) to create modern designs. This isn’t an organization, it’s a group of like-minded artists coming together to create, network and inspire one another in this beautiful local park in the heart of Downtown Orlando. Set up anywhere you wish in the park, but we will mostly gather near the stage area. This event is totally free and open to anyone who wants to participate! All forms of artwork are encouraged. Things to bring- art supplies, chairs, blankets, musical instruments, friends, snacks, drinks, cameras, business cards, words of encouragement, and positive energy. Since we are spending time at this park, we are NOT allowed to sell any items but we can meet and mingle and promote upcoming events. Bathrooms are limited to across the street at Langford Park. The Super Joy Riders: Do Gooder Bike Ride is an exercise in community organizing and active engagement. 10am to 5pm $5 Florida Agricultural Museum Hosts Annual Civil War Pellicer Creek Raid. 7900 Old Kings Road North in Palm Coast Florida. Approximately 250 infantry, artillery, and cavalry troops will stage two battles. Battles will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm. A parade of colors will be presented at noon on Saturday and Sunday. When the participants are not engaged in battle reenactments, their historic camps will be open to the public from 10 am – 5 pm, illustrating other aspects of military life circa 1864.

If the Lottery Gods smile upon us, Charade Theater will be producing a re-imagining of a Broadway classic: Les Miserables. Our adaptation will start in 1952 in America and will document the life and struggles of one man as his paths leads him to one fateful night in New York: the Stonewall Riots.

The show will also delve heavily into the beginnings of the porn industry, and in light of that our first fundraiser is going to be to host a movie night on the lawn, focusing on two movies that seemed appropriate:
