Photos are first-come, first-served – and we move fast! Please arrive camera-ready with a plain white shirt to match the signature style of the NOH8 photos.

When is the best time to arrive? Most people tend to arrive before the photo shoot begins, but as long as someone has lined up by the advertised end time for the photo shoot (3:00pm for this photo shoot), they should be guaranteed a chance to pose!

Once you arrive, the next steps are easy!

1. Fill-out one numbered model release for each person.

2. Have a NOH8 temporary tattoo applied for your photo.

3. Standby for your number to be called.

4. Process your payment once called.

5. Trade your processed model release for duct tape!

NOH8 Co-Founder Adam Bouska will photograph roughly 5-10 frames per person. One frame will be selected/edited by our team and made available within approximately eight weeks (timeline subject to change).

Funds raised by the NOH8 Campaign will be used to continue promoting and raising awareness for marriage and human equality as well as anti-discrimination and anti-bullying through NOH8’s interactive social media campaign. This includes bringing the campaign to other cities and countries around the world, creating and compiling images for our ongoing large-scale media campaign, and covering the costs of the daily operations and maintenance necessary to run this rapidly growing campaign out of our Burbank Headquarters.

Erin Hoover is a poet living in Tallahassee, Florida, with work published in Prairie Schooner, Gargoyle, Redivider, and Sugar House Review, and anthologized in Best New Poets 2013. Erin edits The Southeast Review in addition to volunteering for VIDA: Women in Literary Arts and is a PhD candidate in Florida State University’s Creative Writing Program. Before moving to Florida, she worked as a communications director in New York City and co-founded Late Night Library, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustaining book culture and supporting authors early in their careers. Ciara Shuttleworth was born in San Francisco and grew up in Nebraska, Nevada, and Washington state. Her poetry has been published in journals and anthologies, including Alaska Quarterly Review, Confrontation, The New Yorker, The Norton Introduction to Literature 11e, and The Southern Review. Shuttleworth received an MFA in poetry from University of Idaho, a BFA in painting/drawing from the San Francisco Art Institute, and a BA in studio art from Gustavus Adolphus College. Participants dress as superheroes and ride en mass around the city as they check off their scavenger hunt-like list of Do Gooder Duties; collecting litter, helping senior citizens cross the road, returning shopping carts, basically performing small acts of kindness for an hour and a half of hilarity and love.
The Super Joy Riders: Do Gooder Bike Ride is an exercise in community organizing and active engagement. We hope to use the ride as an opportunity to show how helping people can be simple, fun, and easy, especially while wearing a cape.

If you plan to present with slides, please bring the proper VGA adapter for your laptop and do not depend on / expect any wifi.  Also please try to ensure your talk does not go too far beyond the 20 minute mark.  Each talk slot will be on the hour and half hour, allowing for a little time for questions (5 minutess) and for foot traffic (5 minutes).

The board will open for talk sign ups at 9:30 AM and the first talks will start at 10 AM.

The venue’s this year will be Canvs, the Iron Yard, and maybe a few other spaces.. depending.

If you want to help setup (which mostly means unload chairs), feel free to come hang out around 9 AM. Here is the Schedule for Saturday (right off the website)

The entire community is invited to join us at Casa Feliz to celebrate our 10 Year anniversary as a historic home museum!  That’s right, it’s been 10 years since we opened our doors to the public, after a highly publicized move across Interlachen Avenue and years of painstaking restoration.  We had over 500 visitors that first day, March 5, 2005.   Since that time, over 100,000 people have crossed our threshold for our weekly open houses, weddings, programs and special events!

Listen:  Spread out a picnic blanket, bring the kids, and make yourself comfortable on our front lawn to enjoy the classic Latin sounds of the Don Soledad Group!  Inspired by the gypsy music of Andalucia, Don’s musical path, vision and original compositions journey through the borders of Spain, Latin America and beyond.  The Don Soledad group delivers an authentic, soulful flamenco guitar sound with a touch of Latin jazz and a hint of bossa nova.   The music will be ongoing from 12 noon to 3 pm.

Learn:  Have you ever taken an architectural tour of Casa Feliz?  Our trained docents will be on hand to lead group tours of the authentic Andalusian farmhouse, the signature residential work of architect James Gamble Rogers II.
